Kingsmead Friends' Association
Hi and welcome to the KFA page!
The KFA is a registered charity (Charity Number 1110168) and has been active since 2005. The KFA is made up of a group of volunteers who work together to host events throughout the school year, using monies raised to enhance the experience of our pupils during their primary school years. The KFA stands for Kingsmead Friend’s Association and as such we are open to anyone who wishes to join our group whether they have a child at the school or not. If you do have a child in school you are automatically a member of the KFA along with all staff members and any others who help within the school community.
During our regular meetings we discuss how best to utilise the monies raised to ensure the children receive the maximum benefit of our fundraising. This can be from ideas/suggestions submitted from KFA members, parents on the playground, School staff or even the children themselves! In the main the KFA funds are for the 'extras' not provided by the school budget, that make our children's learning experiences so much more fulfilling and exciting, especially during times where school budgets are being squeezed.
Our current elected members are:
Chair: Laura Brown
Secretary: Chloe Leigh
Treasurer: Fran Hadfield
Here are just some of the things the KFA have funded over the years:
Artist in residence Jane Dixon working with the whole school for our tenth anniversary art work 'People Like Us' in 2014. This remains on display in the entrance hall so please have a look next time you are in school!

Get Involved
There are lots of ways you can help and support your child through the KFA.
Offering to help before events or at other times during the year is so valuable - it really is a case of 'many hands make light work'. It doesn't matter if you can't help on a regular basis, or even if you can't come into school. There are always little jobs that can be done from home if you have half an hour to spare e.g. wrapping gifts, preparing raffle tickets etc. We really couldn't achieve what we do without the unseen 'army of help' that exists in school.
You can of course volunteer to be a committee member or you can simply come along to the KFA meetings and give us your ideas for fundraising events - this is also the time to ask questions or voice your opinion.
You can help by letting us know if you have any contacts or skills we could use - everything is potentially valuable to us.
And finally, we are always extremely grateful to receive the donations of bottles, tombola gifts, raffle prizes etc...
The KFA are always keen to welcome new people so please don’t hesitate to get in touch via kfa@kingsmead.cheshire.sch.uk or via our Facebook page
https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100079076034644, your class KFA representative or just by catching any one of us on the school playground!
