Admissions, Charging, Complaints & Data Protection

Kingsmead Primary is a one and a half form entry community primary school with ten classes from Reception through to Year 6. As a Local Authority maintained school, our admission criteria are the same as for any other Cheshire West and Chester community school with the Local Authority determining our admissions policy and over-subscription criteria.

Our policy sets out charging for activities. By law we may only ask for a voluntary contribution for whole class activities within the school day. However, without these contributions from families we would be unable to provide the breath and enrichment that brings learning to life for children. Residential visits and instrumental tuition as well as some before and after school clubs can be charged for. It is very important that no child miss out due to financial hardship; we can offer bursaries for families in need of support, further details of which can be found in the policy.

Parents and school invariably want the same outcome - the best educational opportunities for children. Most concerns or issues can be resolved amicably, especially if dealt with early on. Please come in to speak to the child's teacher if you have any worries. If this doesn't address your concern please see the phase leader, deputy headteacher or headteacher. We have a policy for complaints which you can find by clicking the link above.
